I've always had an "up and down" weight situation if you will. I'm currently very satisfied with where I am now, but it's been a rollercoaster ride to get to this point. I was teased off and on from 5th to about 7th grade, but my freshman year of high school is where it really began. Here's the kicker, I wasn't even "overweight". My freshman year I started dating a senior guy. His ex-girlfriend, also a senior, did not take very kindly to this. Since she had really no other way to "attack" me, she decided to start calling me "fat" and "fatty" for no apparent reason. I wasn't "fat", might I add again, but very athletic. I didn't matter however, she was picking on me because she could. Every day at the end of my study hall, she would come into the room with 5 minutes left to flirt with the study hall teacher (which I'll add was a minister at the time, who was found out later to have had an affair with a high school student. He was a married man with kids. Yuck.). Because he wa... Read more

Sure, I was the fat kid, and I got ribbed about it from time to time. But it also took four of my friends to hold me down, I once walked down the hall of the school with two of my friends hanging from my belt loops, and I can recall more than one occasion where I walked into the endzone for a touchdown with a guy on my back (back yard variety of football, I never played for real). "Twan, let's see you eat this whole (insert random food item here)" was also a commonly heard phrase. I was pretty much accepted as the fat kid, and I pretty much accepted the role. Maybe I would have been better off if they had just picked on me instead.

In high school, not only was I kind of fat, but also had acne, a double whammy, if you ask me.

God forbid a kid is Fat (or even skinny).Overweight people are made the butt of jokes by all ages,it seems.Being that the US has more obesity than anyplace else, that means a lot of teasing and derision is going on.

this has been around forever. especially if someone is overweight, it is like it is a free ticket to make fun of them because they are "the fat kid" how cruel and what is must do to their self esteem. it does not stop in childhood adults are just as mean with their within earshot remarks to remind them of their weight.one of the prejudices that people can get away with making fun of the overweight person. I was very skinny when I went to school. I had my share of being the butt of jokes. but not anywhere near what the overweight person puts up with. in this country it is like an overweight person deserves to be ridiculed just because of their weight real fair.!

I was always the skinny kid. Everyone, up until 8th grade, thought I had an eating disorder.

I was never the most popular kid in school, and never really defended myself. When i was about 11 years old, their was this girl named Jodi that lived one street over from me. She was good looking, and a popular girl in school. I used to always see a group of kids hanging out in front of her garage door by the alley. I used to stare at the group from a distance by the alleys approach admiring them. Since i was not well liked in school, Jodi always called me names just like the others. One day she called me a fat pig, and i was starting to plot my revenge. Since i did not want to get my ass kicked by her boyfriends, i sent a few of the neighborhood boys out to do the job of my revenge for me. I dont remember what they did to her, but they practically almost made her cry. After a brief confrontation with Jodi and her mother, she never messed with me again. She was always polite to me after that happened.

The only thing you have to ask yourself is, would you like to be the fat kid? Nobody wants that.

Either some kid is too skinny or too fat to be part of a group of kids.
