Possibly my favourite film of all time. John Candy not only shines, but is stellar in his most typical role as that of the lovable oaf. He makes the film worth watching, and delivers a series of brilliant lines. The 'Mess Around' scene is possibly the most hilarious I've ever seen...

Candy was good in this film. One of my favorite lines from the flick is where the two main characters' vehicle was seriously side-swiped and Candy stated something to the effect of "don't worry, that will buff right out!"

john Candy and steve Martin were both good as opposites,a snob and slob end up together on one heck of a road trip back to Chicago. end up in funny frustrating scenes just trying to get back home.Candy was great as the nice oaf, feel bad for him at the end when we find he is all alone in the world.i do like that the guys ended up being buddies.nice movie lots of funny scenes.too bad this talented man died too young.
