Looking back now, I doubt it

Yeah, all those kids coming back from Iraq in body bags probably think different.

If more people had been paying attention to the presidential debates, it would have been a no-brainer back then (as it is today) that Kerry has is more clued in what it takes to be a world leader.

People put their faith in the wrong horse.

I can't argue too much on this point. The Democrats failed to beat Bush because of a weak platform. Their lack of vision and Kerry's stumbling over issues like his Vietnam record cost him the election. The Dems to this day are still weak on policy and direction.

Yes because Kerry would've been too soft on terrorism and Dubya is getting soft already. He needs to send troops in Afghan./Pakist. to comb EVERY BIT OF TERRITORY for Bin Laden and that's not happening (not to say that the hunt isn't going on).

I think he would have been, and that's what my ballot indicated when I put my little mark next to Bush and not Kerry. For all the smack talk and criticism, this just happens to be a really tough time to be president no matter who you are.

Hypothetical. Captain Crunch would probably do a better job than either.

You know, Jimmy Carter would have been worse, also, but this is not a good justification!

There is no way of proving Kerry would have been worse.

I'm no fan of Kerry, but I really doubt that ANYBODY short of say, Mussolini(and he's dead) ,could really be worse than Bush.First and foremost, despite the underhanded smearing of the "swift boat liars",Kerry actually DID serve in the military ,in actual Combat, rather than hide in the safety his wealthy and powerful family could buy him like Bush did.I think this experience would have made him more diplomatic with our allies in the removal of despots like Hussein. He knows first hand what our troops go through in the front lines, and would be much more careful not to put them in harms way-and he certainly would have known better than to send them so ill-equipped that their own families had to scrape money together for protective gear.He also had a pretty good Environmental record, unlike Bush who would sell the last Sequoia for a quick buck or waste time and money ruining the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to put a band aid on the sucking chest wound of our oil dependance.

Not really a valid argument, since there's no way to prove it one way or another at this point (unfortunately). But, speaking as a "Bush Hater", it truly is hard for me to conceive of anyone doing a worse job.

You mean the guy who actually fought in a war and has real medals would have botched Iraq in a worse fashion? Get a grip. . .

I know how Kerry would have turned out. He droned on and on about what he would do throughout the campaign. But, it's not a compelling defense of the Bush administration. It's a compelling defense of the votes of a few undecideds who, at the last minute, voted for Bush on a whim. Anytime they feel like they are not sure about that vote, they should listen to John Kerry give a speech. It all becomes clear again.

Who knows how Kerry would have turned out. Chances are, given the positions he took during the campaign, he might have actually escalated the war in Iraq, thus entrenching insurgent warfare while further destabilizing the region. Domestically, he might have done somewhat better, but I wouldn't have held out so much hope for him. Even though I voted for him, I didn't consider him an ideal choice.
