I should have known that purchasing something called "Chocolate" was a big piece of crap. It's a piece of crap topped with sprinkles. The thing breaks when you plug it in... that's right. Built to break when you charge it after about a year. AWESOME! Good call LG! (no pun intended) Also, if the keypad doesn't lock, you end up touching buttons with your face. Especially, if you have a fat face. It sucks. Why would designers put touch sensitive buttons on the face of a phone!? Is the technology really that impressive? NO! It's not. I would take buttons over touch screen, any day. Its a dumb concept, and it makes me wish to throw sharpened forks at the foreheads of the Chocolate designers while singing. Oh, and don't worry, because the left and right button is the little spinning wheel. Don't put it in your pocket, or ever breath on it incorrectly. Because the thing is so flimsy, it will break and you won't be able to use the navigation. Thankfully, I can still press Right and Down. Suc... Read more

My LG Chocolate phone was fine for the first 6 months or so, then suddenly it started losing its charge almost daily. Fortunately it was still under the 1 year warranty, so Verizon gave me a new battery. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be a battery issue as after 2 days of using it basically twice the charge is almost gone, which is the reason I got a new cellphone in the first place. Other than that, the phone seems to be fine, although I intensely dislike the over-sensitivity of the menu dial and touch-sensitive buttons.

This phone worked great for several months. Suddenly the scroll wheel stopped working correctly. Next, the phone started going dead very quickly. After buying and installing a new battery there was no improvement. It got to the point that the phone went dead within seconds of unplugging it from the charger. Verizon gave me a brand new Chocolate. Bad part was the phone was so shot that none of my downloads could be transferred. Lost a lot of money on songs, ring tones and ring backs. Now that I have had the phone several months, I'm having to charge it daily weather I use it or not. Not only will I never own LG again, I probably won't use Verizon either. These phones should have been recalled. I have not found anyone who is happy with this phone long term.

I have the Cherry Chocolate and can't stand it!I've been a customer of Verizon Wireless for several years and I've only had this cell phone about a year, but so far I've had problems with receiving phone calls/text messages, which don't always like to come through for some reason. The jack where the charger plugs into the phone is loose and has been since I received the phone, so I've been waiting for that to break too.I've also experienced several 'lost calls' since getting this phone, which I never experienced before, so I assume it has something to do with the phone and not Verizon. However I wouldn't recommend this phone as it seems very poorly made and is only good if someone is looking for a disposable phone.

Mu daughter likes this phone, but she is about to get her third one. For the second time the plug for the charger broker. She can't charge it anymore and the store accused her of user abuse. I plug my other phones in with the same kind of a plug, but no other breaks... just this poor quality piece of equipment.

A GARBAGE PHONE!!! My daughter bought one a couple of years ago. Fortunately, she also purchased insurance for $5.00 a month. She's been through 5 or 6 of them so far and it hasn't cost her anything but 120.00 she's paid in insurance. The latest new phone was just a week ago. She's got 2 weeks to go on her 2 year contract. When that's done, so is the Chocolate! Of course, Verizon had all kinds of reasons for the bad phones, none of them were their fault. They blamed my daughter for abusing it each time. The latest time they told her it had gotten wet, which it hadn't.

I got my chocolate phone when it first came out (at least 1 1/2 years ago). frankly I've never had any problems. I've always carried it in its case though maybe that helped the touch sensors last so long. I do have a problem with vista which seems to have all sorts of problems including not allowing the lg driver to not load properly preventing me from syncing music. But this is not the phones fault just vistas!

I am disappointed with my Chocolate! I am on my 3rd replacement...all with the same issue. Yes---I have one of the original models (blah blah blag) but if the original model had issues and Verizon knew of those...then support the customers compliant history. Each phone all under "warranty" would freeze up. When doing so, the screen was not what I had saved as my wallpaper and the ONLY way to get it to stop or respond to pushing your buttons would be to disconnect the battery. Sometimes you would have to keep battery off for a couple of hours to "reset". Now I am 2 months expired on my "warrany" from my 3rd replacement and 2 months to a new contract...stuck with a phone that will only work when it wants to. Sure I have the insurance---but why pay $50 for a phone that will only last a few months anyway! I guess I am also very disapointed in the customer service level as well!

Both my daughters have these phones, they are junk, each has had them less then 6 months and has had them replaced twice each. One of the screens kept turning white and then the screen went out all together. The other one kept shutting off. Funny thing is when I ask them at verizon how many complaints they have had they said not many. Sounds like its all around.

i am on my third chocolate since my contract started (in april) it works OK for the first 3 months, but then sends texts while i'm in the middle of them, decides to call people while the phone is in my pocket, and on some days thinks that i have my finger on the scroll down button and i can't do anything on it. buy ANY other phone! this one blows!

Do not get this phone! It looks great but after one year the sensor starts messing up. It will call a number without you touching a button, it will send a text while you're in the middle of writing and nowhere near the OK button, you try to dial a number and it won't press the go button...it drives me insane! My friend has one too and it does the same thing to her. Now every time I try to turn on the camera the phone shuts off. I have only had it ONE YEAR! These phones just do not last. I am getting a Nokia next time, the one I had lasted 5 years for me!

Phone worked great for about 3 months. Now, the touch pad only works half of the time. Most of the time I have to turn the phone off and on again to get the touchpad to work so I can make a call. The other half of the time, the touch pad is way too sensitive and will start dialing someone in my contact list at random (usually someone who i really odn't care to talk to.) The camera works well and it's a really cute phone, but it simply doesn't perform.

7/5/07: "Cute", but "cute" doesn't necessarily make a good phone. I just wanted something that works as a cell phone and music player all in one, and I didn't want a Razr since everyone else had one and I can't stand 'em. So, I went with the Chocolate. It works well as a mp3 player (have almost 200 songs so far on the 1GB chip that I bought with it), but as a phone it can be really annoying. It appears that the touch-pad is uber-sensitive: Over the several months that I've had it, it has the recurring problem of calling people when I don't want it to. I'll be on the treadmill, joggging away and listening to the mp3 player, while the phone is in the locked position in the cupholder. Suddenly, though nothing is touching it, the music will stop with a *beep*, then a second *beep*, then it starts ringing: I've called my mom at 11pm twice accidentally (and once after midnight) because of it (and she's not entirely too appreciative of it)! It also happens when I'm listening to it... Read more

Alright, i got this phone around 4 months ago and its great. A LOT of people dont know that IT DOES HAVE SPEAKERPHONE. When you talking to someone, hit the camera button on the side of the phone. They unfortunately get scratched up really easy, and i really dont like that you have to have the little adapter thing to use headphones. Coolest looking phone ive seen out, and im glad i have it.

I got this phone about 4 months ago and loved it at first, then about a month ago, it started giving me trouble, the screen will turn white and i will have to restart the phone about every 10 minutes, and now it happens everytime i get a text. The touch pad also freezes often and the screen gets dirty really quikely. I know two other people that are starting to expirience the same things now and hate their chocolate as well. sorry but i hate this phone. i am currently going back to purchasing my old phone, it wasnt as fancy but it actually worked.

OK. I got this phone for Christmas and so far it's great! They don't have buttons, they have touch sensitive keys (TSC). It's so cool. Some people say the TSCs are annoying, but you can change the sensitivity in the setting menu. The volume is great and i dont think any of the greatness wil change or get annoying. the pix have GREAT quality too, and a VERY clear screen. I rate 5 GOLDEN STARS!

LG actually stands for Lesser Grade. Just for starts, I know that this phone tends to have the most warranty exchanges in the store. Too many bugs. Second, play with the touch sensitive buttons and you will see how user unfriendly it is compared to an iPod. Third, it does NOT hold 1000 songs. Unless you shell out for a micro SD card...$30-50 or so, it actually holds closer to 5 songs! 5. Not even a hundred. Not even 10 at good quality. More like 5. AND you either have to download them from the verizon vcast system, or shell out more money for a usb kit, and then download them from your computer where they MUST be in wmv format. That means that if your music is in mpg format (the most common format) you then have to convert it to wmv. The problem with that is that you WILL lose sound quality!

OK. So after I have had this phone for 2 months I'm changing my rating from a 5 to a 4. While it's a very hip and practical little gadget, because it pretty much has it all (video, music player, web with high speed access, photo/video camera...), the touch sensitive buttons make it a little bit of a pain to use. The menus are hard to navigate and they're always changing on me with the simplest brush of my finger... It gets pretty annoying after a while... Over all, though, I still think it's one of the best phones out there in the US. Plus for now it's Verizon, which has the best coverage. === this is the phone that is going to kick the ipod's ass... we'll see what jobs has up his sleeves... but in the mean time, this little number is HOT and offers all the convenience ipods don't: buy music on the go, browse through new tunes while bored waiting for your flight or something, forget about carrying a phone, an ipod, a charger for your phone, a charger for your ipod, a headset for ... This is a pretty slick phone. It has a really neat sliding action that protects the dialpad, and it's great for music. This is one of those gorgeously designed products that comes out every so often - think iPod. However, I'm not a huge fan of the touchpad itself. It's touch sensitive, so i often find myself dialing a number twice that I only wanted to dial once.

I really thought that this was going to be a great phone (all of the commercials made it seem so). the truth is that I'm dissapointed with the chocolate. My biggest complaint is the battery life. I charge it all night, barely use it during the day, charge it in my car, and no matter what it will die every night if I dont put it on the charger. My touchpad doesnt work like I think it should. It will freeze up occasionally, and it is terrible to play games on your phone. Overall I wish that I didnt get this phone
