Fri Dec 03 2010Didn't not get the washing drying machine the lowest sale price, after getting up in the cold to stand in line for the special price last Friday. The cut off was the lady in line right before us. Seems they only had 5 at rock bottom pricing. Never again will I fall for that trick! They even had the nerve to say hope you have a Merry Christmas when we left empty handed.

Mon Dec 07 2009This year, went to the mall just to watch the chaos. The GameStop was packed. So much body heat, you could fry an egg.

Sun Dec 06 2009Seems every year some poor son of a bitch gets trampled at WAL-MART and dies. Crass commercialism at its worst. I'm lazy/ornery enough to not leave the house on those days, but I pity all those out in that mess.

Sun Dec 06 2009While their are alot of bargains and deals out there at the stores, it can be the worse day on earth if you have to work in that environment.

Sat Dec 05 2009I stayed home. Smart, huh? UPDATE: I stayed home again since the zombies with an insatiable hunger for crappy, discounted merchandise overran the malls moaning "sale" the whole day...

Fri Dec 04 2009There is a simple method of dealing with this annoyance. Don't shop on that day.

Fri Dec 04 2009Personally I'm quite upset that Black Friday has been co-pted by the Christmas zealots when it was originally a somber observance in memory of all the stock brokers who have jumped out of Wall Street windows after market crashes that regularly occur on Fridays in October.

Fri Dec 04 2009It doesn't bother me at all. While all the insane shoppers are standing outside the stores at 6 am (or earlier) waiting for the doors to open, I'm in bed sleeping off the previous day's turkey dinner.

Fri Dec 04 2009Pretty brutal. I had never done this before until this past one, where we wanted to get this expensive camera that was on significant sale for about $600. What time did I get to Best Buy? 3:30 am. Not so bad though...one kid we knew got there at 6pm the previous day! Waiting in line for a computer, he was #20 and still did not get the exact item he wanted. This was crazy, but you know what, if we really hate Black Friday, we don't have to show up. Then there'd be no lines!

Fri Dec 04 2009I love Black Friday.I never go to the friggin mall anyway, and on THAT day,I know in advance to plot a course far and wide away from any such place.Only the morons have to deal with it...or the poor slobs working in retail.

Sun Dec 07 2008It's annoying to a point. You can actually get to the store about 9-ish and there will still be some good deals available. I bought a sweater at Penney's for $11.88 (regularly priced at $34).

Thu Nov 29 2007a co-worker has made this the family tradition and really enjoys it. Different strokes.

Tue Nov 27 2007I swear you can get better deals later in December...when stores are nervous about left over merchandise. Unless one is shopping for their kids latest toy, something that without, would leave them utterly heartbroken on Christmas day, there's really no need.

Mon Nov 26 2007Way too early for Christmas shopping. I'll think about gifts in about 3 weeks.

Mon Nov 26 2007I prefer Cyber Monday. I don’t want to deal with the vultures and the wolves hunting for bargains.

Mon Nov 26 2007Who needs it? It's not worth getting trampled to death over. And nine times out of ten they only have two or three on the shelf when you get there, anyway, and they don't replenish the shelf.

Sun Nov 25 2007I used to get up early years ago when it was 7am for the early bird. then it got way too early. I stopped doing the early thing. I did go the Target at 9am this time because of a few dvd deals. and still got what I wanted .no way will i get up way too early for some deal again.i will not be part of the stampede.

Sun Nov 25 2007I don't care because I don't do it. I go to work the day after Thanksgiving, and even if I had the day off I probably would avoid the malls. No way am I waking up that early for "specials" on items I wouldn't buy for my loved ones (let's face it: that $100 laptop is only $100 for a reason), even if I did manage to claw my way through scores of much more determined and probably much larger shoppers who want to get one of the three items in stock.

Sun Nov 25 2007Crazy,for some this could be a 'family tradition' a way to spend the day after thanksgiving, but I try to stay off the roads and especially the malls this day,if you wait until the day before Christmas Eve,or even Christmas eve itself, you get much better bargains, but the crowds are probably just as bad. Online shopping is the way to go!

Sun Nov 25 2007I don't do it. . .will never do it. . .we don't get much time off of work anyways (just checking the e-mail for the office on Mon.) thus I never understood the desire to shop the Friday after the Thursday holiday. . .it just gets in the way of drinking. . .

Sat Nov 24 2007An over-rated experience! I did this once and I learned after that less than joyful day to never do it again.

Sat Nov 24 2007Here is my verdict on those who camp out in the Wal-Mart parking lot, for two days, waiting to be among the first three hundred to buy the half price sheep incubator. To the wall! Ready! Aim! FIRE!

Sat Nov 24 2007Ridiculous, how people go nuts shopping during this pagan holiday season.
