I enjoyed the game the only draw beck to this game is that if you mess up you have to go back all the way to the start of the last saved game which is the start of the level.

Although any fan of Mario will love New Super Mario Bros in solo play, the real innovation is the introduction of co-operative mode, where you play each shiny new Mario level with up to 4 players at once. Everyone is used to side-scrolling brawlers like metal slug where two people play side-by-side, but New Super Mario actually allows you to interact with each other.

The results are amusing, and, depending upon who you're playing with, co-operation may start to resemble co-opetition or even a full-fledged battle to the death. Your characters have dimension in this world so you can block each other, launch into a high jump off of Mario's head, pick up your friend Luigi and carry him to safety, or throw him into a pit of lava.

The game never fully kills you off...so long as one play is alive you don't even go back to the map...instead you float back into the game in a bubble that the other player must pop...it merely tracks how many of the infinite continues you've used, encouraging a bit of recklessness that makes the gameplay infinitely more fun. This also means that a skill level imbalance between two players doesn't negatively affect the experience.

New Super Mario Bros. is probably my favorite update to Mario yet, and it's certainly the best Wii game I've played this year.

EARTHBOUND - Hands down one of the best games I've ever played. Plus the fact you can name all your characters appeals to someone like me, and strategy/turn based battle systems are my cup o tea! Though the game is SUPER rare now, try to find it and play it - it's TOTALLY fun!

SUPER MARIO BROS. keeps on giving. The game itself brings back memories but that is not why we like it. Our son loved Mario Bros from the first Nintendo through every Nintendo since and has beaten every game he played. This is unique since he has full blown Autism and can't read or write. He beat typical peers regularly in games which gave him allot of status esp. as he got older.

But now we can all play together. Our son, now an adult, is very competitive; but we as retirees, like to sit back and enjoy. This is the best of both worlds.

We can compete [FREE FOR ALL, COIN BATTLE] or we can work together [COOPERATIVE PLAY) to help each other with a segment. Since you can add or drop players throughout the game this is great for those, like me, who like to play a little while but not a whole lot.

Since our son is familiar with the game from past systems and titles, he immediately took the lead allot. However, my husband now has more time and is more competitive, so after a bit of extra practice he is right there with him, some of the time. It is a joy to see everyone together working and playing.

It is better than a board game because it allows all of us to enjoy the wins and losses. If you are a parent, you can teach sharing, working together while enjoying your children. Wish we had this type of MARIO years ago but we are making up for it now. Thank you SUPER MARIO BROS. and Wii for all the fun and laughter.

P.S. My son always has had trouble enjoying certain games because of the music/noise (he turned off all sound) but he has always liked the music in MARIO BROS.

Nintendo has come out with yet another brilliant Mario game again. I was really looking forward to this game, since this is the first installment of this game on the Wii. There are some new features like the helicopter suit, riding on Yoshi etc with the element of classic Mario gameplay. This game is a must have for all Wii owners and this is a blast especially for Mario fans. Just go get this one. And thank you Amazon for the $10 gift certificate along with the pre-order.

This game is awesome!!!! It takes the best part of all the old-school Mario games and adds the cool stuff from the newer Marios!!

Pretty slick for a side scrolling game, and it has so much to it, I know even when I beat all the worlds, I can go back and play it again, and pick up all the stuff I missed.
I'm not too big on the fact that after you die 8 times, Luigi offers to do the level for you, but you can always choose not to accept his help. I just think there are enough hidden treasures (flowers, mushrooms, etc.) that you don't need his help to keep trying.

I found a much more thorough honest review at [...]

Check out the review, and make sure you play this game!!!

This game is the equivalent of the book you take to the beach or park to sharpen your word puzzle skills. It has puzzles of varying difficulty (easy, medium and hard) and has all types of word puzzles. Crosswords, codebreakers, cryptic, word search, kriss kross, backwords and more. It's okay but like another reviewer said, the same words may pop up if you play this game a lot. Other than that, a fun game to work on when you're in a word puzzle mood and can't remember where you put the book.

There are a lot of positives about this game but overall it wasn't all that interesting or fun. 2 out of 5.

The good: Great use of sound to create an atmosphere, it's really top notch in that regard. The graphics are also quite good. There is no need for a heads up display as your suit and weapon indicate your health and ammo count, and when you do need a pop up menu it shows up live in the game to perserve realism. The customizations and options to upgrade your gear as you see fit are also a nice touch. Environments look great.

The mediocre: The story is a B- and characters are just ok. A lot of things in this game are pretty derivative of others, there's a Half-Life-esque gravity gun type weapon for example. Weapons are so-so overall.

The bad: Aiming leaves a lot to be desired, could use a sensitivity adjustment as many other games have. Also the gameplay gets pretty repetitve, and worse that that the enemies are totally dull. Just plain boring.

The horrible and annoying: The asteroid shooting sequence. If you're not an experienced shooter, prepare to be stuck on this level for quite awhile, even on easy. It's difficult and lasts way too long (about 2 minutes), and extremely frustrating. There needs to be a cheat or something to bypass it. It does nothing for the game.

Despite my rating for this game, I think all of the mechanics are in place to make an excellent sequel. Tighten up the aiming, give some legit (fun) enemies, and do away with the goofy mini-games and I think you could have a masterpiece. But as of right now it's a "nice try, but..."

The other reviewers have already mentioned the game itself, I would like to comment on the game-PLAY. When you play 4 players, it can become very difficult to get through some of the levels, especially when you have to get through gears or falling things....and that part could get frustrating. I don't know that this was fully thought for some levels, as it will become apparent, and you may have to compensate for this by letting a couple of characters die and getting through with one or two. I don't mind it, but it should be noted. I do like the game play, it really is a lot of fun (for the most part) with more than one player playing. The graphics are fine and the new features are fun. It's nice to be able to freeze characters, and having 4 yoshi's running around at the same time makes for a very interesting time. One nice thing is that younger children can play also, and when they run out of lives the game will still continue and will automatically continue and bring everyone back. We have a lot of fun together and my son learns a little patience and my daughter learns perseverence....and my wife and I learn how to referee better. LOL. I would also note that Amazon offers this for much less than some of the local stores around me....so, order now, and start charging your controllers.

Basic: If you liked Marvel Ultimate Alliance, you'll like this sequel even more.

Graphically: Similar to first, but improved. The environments look a lot better and the character interactions aren't too bad. It's a RPG so you're stuck with a certain viewpoint at times, but you do control how close/far you are from your four characters for the most part.

Bugs: They're working on some problems. One was joining an online game and the hangups. There are some glitches on some of the missions, but I've found if you exit and reload the game save, it'll fix itself. One in particular was a boss battle and you have to eliminate the surrounding enemies before you can damage the boss (rinse, repeat), but one of my characters knocked one of the guards off the edge, preventing me from causing any harm to him.

Gameplay: The added fusions are lots of fun and the character abilities are close to what I would expect them to be able to do. The different fusions in the game are definitely where it is at, tons of different interactions between the list of characters. There are some similarities when using like characters, but for the most part there are three basic fusions (guided, targeted, clearing) and depending upon which heroes you have and who you're trying to initiate the Fusion with, you might be limited to what fusions you can do.
The missions aren't too bad, and I think the best part of the game is choosing sides and having different bosses through a section of the game. I'd recommend playing through twice, once on regular/hard difficulty through either Pro or Anti-Reg, and another time through the other on Legendary difficulty.

Sounds/Voices: for the most part the voice-acting was really well done. Most of the characters sound like they should. And a lot of the familiar marvel sounds are there.

Online/MP: as mentioned, the online can be problematic, but it is more fun to play through the scenarios with a co-op buddy (on or offline). Especially since the AI doesn't do the best of jobs of managing your non-human controlled allies.

Recommend?: Yes and No. Great for Marvel fans and RPGers. If you liked MUA, XMen Legends, etc., you'll like MUA2. The DLC is kind of pricey however (it's cool that they added Carnage, Psylocke, Magneto, and Cable tho!). The Juggernaut is fun to use, but is only available separately. If you have a friend that has the game and the character, just join their game to try out the Juggernaut (there are free patches to allow for Co-op members to share DLC while online, but once you quit, you'll be back to your standard team list). The game takes some time to get through considering it has a bunch of simulator challenges, hidden conversations, hidden collectibles, and 2 different playthroughs, but after that you're done.

Bioware have a long history of award winning RPG games such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire and the more recent Mass Effect. With an impressive back catalogue like this it is no wonder that all eyes are on Bioware every time they announce or release a new game. Does Dragon Age: Origins stand up to the test?

No matter what was said about the game before it's release I knew it would be a game I'd have no choice but to play as I'm a big fan of Bioware's work and have played everything they've released to date. There was a little noise in the gaming community after they announced certain items included with the retail copy would be available through DLC (downloadable game content) which meant only first time buyers of the game would get these items, but people buying it second hand would not. I wouldn't say it's that outrageous to be honest - they're not essential to the game, but they do add value to it, so it's like they rewarding those who buy it new before June 2010 (when the DLC expires).

In the Collector's Edition of the game it comes with a number of extra bonuses on top: Blood Dragon armour (which is also made available in Mass Effect 2 when it's available), Bergen's Honor (a special helm), the Final Reason (a magical staff), and Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes (a book). On top of this the collector's edition also comes with a bonus DVD that contains a "Making-of" featurette, concept art, wallpaper, and the original game soundtrack. Other DLC can also be obtained by using the character creator (which gives you a ring called The Lucky Stone), and a further three items (Embri's Many Pockets, Amulet of the War Mage, Helm of the Deep) by playing and completing certain achievements in their Flash based game, Dragon Age: Journeys.

Anyone who has ever played a Role-playing game will know what it's like to shape your character as you desire - it's either a monotonous task which takes up valuable game time, or it is a craft to which you can enjoy carefully picking and chose your characters abilities. Whichever of these categories you fall into it will satisfy your needs - you can pick from pre-generated characters and auto-level up when the time comes, or you can sit and chose which attributes and skills to improve.

How the game plays out depends upon which race and class you decide to go for, and each one has it's own origin story and achievement (or trophy if you're on a PS3) so it encourages you to play the game multiple times to get the other achievements, though only as far as the character joining the Grey Wardens.

Morrigan, voiced by Claudia Black

What matters most about any RPG isn't just the shiny weapons and the illustrious NPCs that you meat along your journeys, but the story that drives your character forwards to his or her ultimate goal whatever it may be. The general outline of the story is that for some reason (depending on your origin story) you have met with a Grey Warden called Duncan who takes you to join the Grey Wardens. After a series of trials and your "joining" you are one of the Wardens, and not too soon as a battle with the Dark Spawn soon ensues and the fate of Ferelden lies in your hands. In most of the origin stories you are a "no one", and through your actions throughout the game you eventually become a well known force for good or evil depending on your actions - but you will save Ferelden from the Blight regardless of your alignment. It is pretty much your run-of-the-mill Bioware story for an RPG and follows pretty much the same pattern as every other game they've made. It's not boring though, as the story does still feel engaging and draws the player in to wanting to find a way to stop the Dark Spawn and seek revenge for Loghain's betrayal and Ostagar. Depending on the choices you make depends on how these final plot points take shape and what the final fate of your party is. This is one of the things I like about the story - it does change based on what actions you take and doesn't deal so much with "light" and "dark". Instead the game understands that life exists in shades of grey and that it is the decisions we make and our opinions that not only shape our story but the story of those around us. This is why each party member has an "approval rating" which can cause them to leave the party or to fight you if they disagree enough.

The voice acting includes Kate Mulgrew (who played Captain Katherine Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager), Simon Templeman (who has voiced many games previously, including Jade Empire and KOTOR), Claudia Black (from Farscape and Stargate SG-1), Tim Curry, Tim Russ, Steve Valentine, and many others adding up to an impressive cast of 144 voice actors. I don't think I've ever seen any other computer game with such a large cast, and it's good to see a few familiar names amongst the list. Tim Curry as always does a great job of lending his voice to our hero's nemesis.

The soundtrack is pretty much your typical fantasy game setting music with a combination of slow, soft and contemplative tracks, and rousing battle themed tracks. The theme tune to the game is unsurprisingly my favourite from the soundtrack and has a very nice vocal piece at the start of the song and an underlying styling that makes me think it has a slight "old English" twist to it that inspires thoughts of Vikings and Saxons and epic struggles between armies of the time. Pieces such as "Ruins of Ostagar" do a good job of setting the mood for the scene to convey the tragedy and the joy of various scenes throughout the game. Other tracks such as "I am the One" by Inon Zur, and "This is War" sung by 30 Seconds to Mars are memorable tracks that despite containing lyrics and being slightly more up tempo are suitable for the style and story in the game. The downside to a lot of the background tracks though is that they feel very generic and could easily be from any fantasy game.

If you've already played this game and found it very enjoyable then you'll probably be quite happy to learn that there are a couple of novels already released which have been written by David Gaider and fill in some of the background about the kingdom and the Grey Wardens ("The Stolen Throne" and "The Calling").

first of all I am not the biggest fan of COD. However, I played COD 2, 3, 4 but I skipped World at War. The games are definately fun to play, and that is the only reason I bought all of them. even World at War but until the price decreases because I am not really into WW2 type of games.

Now, I will go to CODMW 2. This game is good enough to buy, but only if the price is around $30 to $40. The fun justifies everysingle penny if the price does not exceeds $40.

I was not impressed with the graphics at all, in fact it feels like I am playing COD2. So far, the game with the best graphics is KILLZONE 2 for the PS3, but that's another story. Te multiplayer is nothing out of the ordinary, and I am still waiting for a multipleyer that is as fun as Rainbow Shix Las Vegas which was a great game for an amazing multiplayer experience.

If you are a big fun of COD then you should buy it and replay it to justify the price. I do not regret bying this game because it is very fun and has reply value. One thing, I am really wishing for future CODs is to make it more personal, where you are brief on missions and you can select the weapons you feel more comfortable with. Probably it wont happen since it is not the scope of the game.

Anyway, I belive 3 stars should be a fair rating for this game. I guess I will wait for Battlefield (bad company 2) and hopefully this one will be a amazing game.

I just recently picked up this game though it's been out for quite a while now. I read the reviews and all seemed quite positive. I usually ignore the comments that rave about how "scary" a game is...I really don't see how a video game is going to give you nightmares but hey, that's just me. So, I get the game and start playing. I immediately notice the graphics. Though the atmosphere of the game is intentionally very dark, the game looks gorgeous. The backgrounds and attention to detail by the developers is really impressive.

The voice work is good though don't expect your character to utter a word, which frankly just seems odd. The other characters yammer on and on while they merrily order you around to do their dirty work while you obediently follow their every command. The controls are easy to pick up once you get into the game. There are all kinds of helpful hints popping up all over the screen and well, they are almost as demanding as your shipmates in their efforts to be reviewed. Sound effects are quite good throughout the game.

The storyline...at first it's all a big and rather intersting mystery. What happened? What are these things? Where are all the people? Soon, you won't really care because the story disintegrates rather quickly as you find out more and you mostly end up just wandering around from place to place, flipping this switch, moving that box, resetting that machine and all the time you'll be attacked randomly by various creepy looking monsters. Now, when these attacks first happen, they are quite startling. The gore was flying everywhere. But after that happens a few dozen times, the thrill is gone and shooting the limbs off the same creatures repeatedly becomes tedious.

The game has stores scattered about to purchase ammo, med kits, etc and move your limited inventory items that you just can't part with into a vault so you can't access it when you really need it. The game also uses a work bench system to upgrade your weapons and your suit and it's really a shame that you can't upgrade Isaac's personality because he really sucks. It takes forever to actually accomplish anything on the work bench which seems completely unnecessary and rather pointless. After all I have things to do...I have to restart the flux capacitor in the zero gravity room because my team mate told me to then I have to go back to that other room, kill those monsters and pick up that part to use in some other area and then go back to the flux capacitor, kill those monsters again and BLAH BLAH BLAH. The game rapidly becomes tedious and well, quite boring. There, I've said it, call me what you will.

To summarize my opinion:

The Good:
~Graphics
~Game controls
~Voice work
~Some initial "scare" factor
~Lots of gore
~The game tricks you into thinking it will be new and different

The Bad:
~The storyline falls apart rather quickly
~The character you play is about as interesting as a pile of dirt
~Upgrade system is lame
~Everyone loves to boss you around and you just TAKE it
~The game tricks you into thinking it will be new and different when it's really just REPETITIVE...there I've said that too.

It's got a relatively small price tag and at this point you could probably pick it up in a bargain bin so is it worth it...sure. Again, it's not a terrible game by any means but I just got really bored with doing and killing the same things over and over.
