
Since its founding in 1936, this museum has played a significant role in documenting and exhibiting Texas's natural history. Today, it welcomes hundreds of thousands of annual visitors, and boasts 1,800 members. Permanent exhibits include: a lagoon nature walk, a paleontology lab, a representation of Dallas in the Ice Age, and displays of Texas birds, wetlands, mammals, dinosaurs, and oceanic life. Many additional online exhibits are also available.
