ItemImageBeacon Hill is a 19th-century village-like neighborhood with quite a history. Before the Revolution, the area was mostly pasture, but John Hancock's estate was a feature on that landscape. The southernmost part was developed in 1790s for Boston's richest families. Besides being full of cozy restaurants and other shops, another notable feature is Bull & Finch's Pub, which was the model for the bar in Cheers.

Cool neighborhood. I always feel like I'm going back in time when I walk through Beacon Hill. This is how I pictured Boston before I moved here.
