 | cumatage (0) 08/09/2005 | I saw that someone mentioned the virtual volleyball. What fun is it to stand in line watching a bumch of unsupervised punks stand in front of a screen with arms up in the air?
This place is a mess. It's really gone downhill in the last dozen years. The exhibits are usually broken because they are supposedly hands on. That just means that there are a lot of buttons to push - and people push them a lot, so they break!! I watched a bunch of kids run from shoddy display to shoddy display seeing how many buttons they could push!
Last week (August '05) I asked someone in their bookstore if they had any books by Stephen Hawking. The chick looked at me like I had 2 heads and actually blew a bubble in my face!
To be fair, I have been up to the library there and I got great service. Also, if you can find someone in the halls that actually works there, they are usually helpful with explaining the exhibits, but GOOD LUCK trying to find one. I don't know how mnay people they employ there, but the employees are NOT out making sure the kids don'te tear down the place. They must be hidden upstairs somewhere. I know that I get a couple of letters every year asking me for funds. NO WAY! Admission is ridiculously expensive for the crap they offer.

 | Blanco~Nino (0) 07/10/2004 | When i was a young lad, i loved the museum of science so much that my parents bought me a season pass so i could go whenever. although it still brings back old memories, the stuff there is getting kind of old and lots of it you can probably go online to find out about it. But going to the omni theatre is a great experience, as is the electricity theater. I love playing the virtual volleyball there!

 | macc5645om (0) 03/01/2003 | I used to love going there when I was a child on field trips. The information is getting a bit dated though. I'm not sure if it is because I am older and the things they teach aren't that profound, but it just doesn't have that old nostalgic feel. A wonderful and educational place to take kids.

 | aflx (0) 06/13/2002 | Lots of neat things. One point of advice, though-- when I was there, I came across some mirror/vision exhibit where visitors were encouraged to put their noses up against a spot between two mirrors. Dumb mistake, there was actually a smearable "pool" of other people's nose grease there. Ugh. The mathematics section was interesting. The Big Dig feature left much to be desired.

 | bara2389et (0) 12/02/1999 | This is one museum that you need to explore in every nook. I was there at least once a month for ten years and never tired of it.
