Can respect them again, now that Bonds is gone.

They're awful. So old...

Give them 3-4 years and they MIGHT be contenders again once Lincecum develops into a stud pitcher.

I love the San Francisco Giants and I am a HUGE Barry Bonds fan. I have been a fan of his ever since he played for the Pirates. The stadium is a great addition to an already great city! GO GIANTS!

I got caught up in the Barry Bonds home run craze and went to the Giants last 14 home games at AT&T park (I'm infuriated that some idiot in center field did not bring his glove and the ball bounced off his hand and landed down into the lap of some idiot waiting to order beer and garlic fries while history was in the making). At any rate I have discovered that the Giants have a difficult situation with Bonds on their hands. They are tied up in his huge salary this year and he's only hitting .260 and is a hinderance on the bases and in the field but the fans want to see him hit. Finley's a good bet in center and when Alou's back you'd want to put him in right and Winn in left, but you can't because you have Bonds. Their pitching staff aside from Schmidt is weak. Visquel's still anchoring shortstop nicely. Luckily they aren't in a powerhouse division so the title will be up for grabs.

They tend to overachieve a lot,at least in recent years, and are seemingly always able to wring another good year out of ancient veterans. A club where most of the players, not all, but most, are rather boring. It's been that way since the 70's. What's funny is that they were a very successful team in New York, but have only made the Series 3 times, losing each time, since moving to the Bay Area. Their 60's teams may have been the best club to never win a Series for an extended period, they had at various points:Mays, Cepeda, Marichal, G.Perry,Bobby Bonds, etc. and still didn't win one.

Nothing without Bonds (with any luck that AHOLE will never come back, I guess the roids can't fix everything) Their pitching is horrible, thanks to the Rocks they can't be last.

I pick them to finish third behind the Padres and Dodgers. The Giants have quality guys, but this is an ancient bunch. Guys like Omar Vizquel, Armando Benitez, J.T. Snow, they're way past their primes. The regular season is gonna be a grind for them but by September they're gonna wear out.

They will do well this year, especially with the additions of Vizquel, Benitez, Alou, and Matheny. All those guys will be a valuable asset to the team.

Felipe Alou manages this team like every game counts, and often that is the difference between winning and losing. From Barry Bonds to Cody Ransom this team is made up of gamers who like to play and love to win. Go Giants!

Well balanced squad with solid strength on both offense and defense. This club has a winning attitude and should either win its division or be the Wild Card team in 2003.

They have a great mix of youth and veterans, an inspirational manager, the best ballpark in the ever, a packed house, and tons of chemistry and heart.
