It ain't SeaWorld folks! I actually worked here when I was in college at the information desk. Had to announce upcoming events. Pretty good time. It's not big, even with Discovery, the floating seal/dolphin/whatever pavilion moored beside it, but what they have is worth the trip. Big circular tank with all types of species from rays to sharks to turtles, or at least they did. Exhibits surrounding the tank and other places. At one point they used to have seals outside during the summer in a small pen. They may or may not still do this. They have an IMAX screen, though I've never seen it. Used for presentations and educational programs. Is currently showing "Star Trek". What the fuck this has to do with ocean life is anyone's guess.Very knowledgeable and pleasant guides. Check for feeding and showtimes before you go.http://www.neaq.org/index.php

Impressive but not that impressive. They had standard stuff and very pretty jellyfish and seahorse exhibits but that’s about all I can remember. I found the aquariums in Monterey and Chicago more grandiose and engaging.

If I were in Boston for any more than a weekend, looking for a great day I'd be sure to see this place. I've visited every few years and I'm always impressed by new exhibits. Bring the kids, girlfriend, whoever!
Bonus: it's walking distance (4 blocks) from the major tourist attraction faneuil hall, a great place for lunch/shopping.

I think it's a nice, fun place to take the kids. Looking at all the different fish is pretty cool.
