"Swindoll" is right. I gave him an extra star for having the honesty to admit what's he's up to in his surname.

Chuck Swindoll is a misogynist. He wants his women quiet and submissive - he hates strong women as I heard him say. I have the same antipathy for him that I have for all of you bible banging nut jobs. Read something besides the bible and you might just realize that you have been misled. Look at your own pathetic life and ask yourself if god could plan it would you be in such a miserable state. Face it, the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer in this life, and this life is all you have so make the best of it.

Chuck Swindoll is shallow and puffed up with pride. Many years ago I worked at Forest Home Conference Center which is a christian conference center in the San Bernardino mountains of southern California  I worked for a dept head which caused me to interface with the bible teachers that were featured key note speakers. At one point during Chuck Swindoll's stay - I had to interface with him.  That day at that moment I witnessed a man (Chuck Swindoll) who looked down on me and in his interaction with me (whereas he derided me) I saw and smelled the arrogance as part of his essence - which was greater than any other individual I have ever interfaced with (which include ungodly - unsaved sinners) You can go on about him in glowing terms all you want -BUT I KNOW WHAT I SAW THAT DAY - AND IT WASN'T PRETTY.

Rated by Baylor University as one of the top 10 preachers in the world, Swindoll has earned the ranking.  A former machinist and member of the armed forces, Swindoll is both everyone's "regular guy" and intellectual crusader at the same time.  His warm, compasionate demeaner coupled with his obvious love for the Lord and stubborn desire for realness and truth, make Swindoll an irresistable tool of the Almighty for Millions thoughout the world.

Great teacher.  He instrumentally helped me to be saved by Jesus and I have been a Christian for 8 years.  Very simple explanations for all concepts.  Not money hungry.

He has a heart as big as heaven. That plus his understanding of what it is to be a Christian and human give authority to his lessons.

He is human and flawed. He has had issues, that come from the same nature that all other humans have. As only the Lord is pure, no minister is not. That stated.

15 or 20 years ago now, I listened to his radio show, growing up. I grew up in a church, as a pastors son. I listened to "Insite for living" and "Through the Bible" every night for years. When I turned16 I rebelled against God, ran away, lived on my own. I hooked up with a group of Satanists. First it was for fun (Crowlian) then a more serious group (a levi-Wierus based group).

I explain that because how god chose to protect me even when I refused his protection, was Dr Swindoll's voice, and the voice of Dr McGee's during the times of the worst darkenss. It was those voices I heard in my head that helped me me eventually leave those groups. Those voices that helped me through the times I wanted to give in to drugs or to end everything. Those voices ministered to me, even when I would not allow anyone around me minister to me any other way.

Arrogance is often confused with assurance or faith. I feel that dr Swindoll is a man of Faith, Blessed and used by God.

But seriously, folks...there's a guy named SWINDOLL pushing evangelism on paying cust...I mean, followers?  I truly hope a man's lot isn't dictated by his name. [:^)

Some of these guys just seemlessly merge into one another on the radio. But in general a good rule is, if at the 20-minute mark in a 30-minute broadcast there is a 'special message' from the 'pastor', hide your money.

Chuck is a wonderful preacher and a wonderful Christian. His passion for Christ, family, and his church is amazing. And his humor is a wondeful touch to his already amazing preaching.

My problem is never with the Word but with the condescending "chit chat" that seems to follow between Christians on this "TV Evangelists" weblist. It is the name calling and mocking of each other, which is very childish and unbecoming of the Christian, and how the Lord wants us to act. Now don't get me wrong I never said I was perfect but this particular weblist is out of control and many of the comments are often "of no value, and only ruins those who listen." Christians who argue with each other on RIA and in other forums often do more harm than good, think about it... 2 Timothy 2:14 "Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers."(New King James Version) "Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers." (King James Version) "Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen." (New International Version) My prayer for Chuck Swindoll or any evangelist is the same that I hope you pray for me, that God will use me and show me His way, for God to forgive me when I fail and for my Christian brothers and sisters to lift me up when I fall.

His books and radio program have been refreshing to me through the years. He's kept fresh for a long time. I'm glad.

Chuck Swindoll is an admirer of Dietrich Bonhoeffer a Liberal German theologian . Swindoll uses quotes from Bonhoeffer in some of his teachings without the slightest bit of critism of Bonhoeffer's blasphemous lies and attacks on Scripture.Bonhoeffer did not believe in and rejected and denied Christ's virgin birth, the sinlessness of Christ, the resurrection of Christ and there's probably plenty more blasphemies Bonhoeffer believed and taught. It is amazing so many think Swindoll is such a wise and good Christian leader!!!I have known many baby Christians who easily have enough sense to reject teaching's like Bonhoeffer's.

Chuck Swindoll has had an incredible ministry in the life of our family. My daughter, who was in deep sin, came to the Lord and every day, she listens to Chuck. She has grown in the Lord amazingly strong.......mainly because of his strong teaching of the scriptures.

Not as good as Billy Graham but pretty darn close.

I enjoy hearing him.

I used to listen to Chuck before I put up my company http://jasminecorp.net as I was working and his radio program was right at the time when I will be driving. He has Great sermons and good Bible knowledge.

Has also authored several great books.

A little too gracious sometimes...but, sincere, humble, & passionatein his works.

I think he's ok but I know what California Woman means. Alot of these religious leaders get a huge head on there shoulders when they get followers. What they lose sight of is that they are Christ's followers, they're just the spokesperson.

Well Vinissac - he might have good Bible knowledge and preach good sermons - but when I dealt with him - one on one there at Forest Home Conference Center - he came across as one ONE nasty piece of work. And as I recall - that day that I had to talk to him - he was standing with 'other' Bible teachers (everyone who was in the Evangelical world here in southern California came or went to Forest Home Conference center) some who were like him - who thought that they were legends in their own minds - like he thought he was...And while the arrogance filled the room that day - Swindol lead the band...

Chuck is a true godly individual, I love hearing his sermons and he writes amazing books. I am currently reading the book he wrote on Job and it is fascinating
