 | eMonarch95 (0) 08/14/2003 | This is a terrible bank. Their customer service is horrible. For example, when I got married it took 9 months for them to join my husband's and my accounts together properly. Of course, the entire time they were charging us fees that we had to keep track of and yell for them to be refunded.
The fees for this bank are extremely high. Especially the brokerage and IRA accounts. Also, their investing advice is based on whatever funds their licensed broker's get commission on.
I would not recommend this bank to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

 | DeVaughnucci (0) 05/14/2003 | As a business man I consider First Union the worst possible bank to consider.From experience thier customer relations are horrific.Unless your in the upper high end of finance ,and if your a working person ,consider another bank .When it comes down to it go fast to a home town bank .

 | Teaseress (13) 05/09/2002 | This rating isn't about FU, its about banks in general. I agree with liberty. I'm from the UK and have worked for 3 major banks. With one of them I was on a training scheme for CS, snd what they do is appalling. You can set up an overdraft, you don't have to pay for it if you don't use it, they'll charge you quite a high interest rate if you do, and then they'll increase your limit without asking for your permission. All they are interested in is making sure you use as many products as possible so they can make more money. Banks are businesses and all they are interested in overall is their profit margins.

i used to work there and they are not at all about customer service.
they will grab every penny from you that they can
i was always embarrased by our rates, especially in the south

 | Ruby (15) 11/03/2000 | I send a lot of international wire transfers for my business, and FUNB makes the process very easy. Overall, they have good people working with them and their rates seem to be quite reasonable.
