Ok, so what would you say knowing the majority of Brits, like the French, did NOT favour the war? At least the French stuck to their guns. Glad you recognised we are smart though. Update: Thanks Mr P: I think you'll find I'm one of the majority who are against the whole venture, (now rated at only 33% in favour-Nov 10) which is why I made the comments. A friend in need would certainly ellicit Britain's help as should be expected...invading Iraq was not a 'need' and like France at the time, half the Brits tried to advise their friend that it was wrong, only Bush didn't want to listen. Neither did Blair and now he's getting a rough ride for it.

I applaud The United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland (thanks Ignatius!) for their actions in regards to their support for America after 9/11. Now, not all of the British (i.e Daccory) supported standing by their friend in a time of need, but I'm glad Tony Blair did and I'm sure most Americans are too.

jgls comment, which should be funny, is true, sadly. It's sad because we come to expect this sort of loyalty from the Brits and typical turncoat behavior from the French. And they deliver . . . UPDATE: To daccory: How about the friggin' terrorists?

Since England is not a soveriegn state it does not make sense that it is on the list. The United Kingdom, how ever, is one of Americas strongest allies and is one of the few countries to fight in both gulf wars.

without question our greatest ally in the world. the bonds forged during the first two world wars and the last two gulf wars have shown that britain is our most reliable military ally. our friendship with the french began earlier, but lately the french have treated us more like an old diaper than an old friend.
