 | lmorovan (12) 04/16/2008 | There is one size Gospel and it's good and valid for all. Perhaps intellectual Christians who stand high above the mere mortals may find his approach dumbing down, but he does what Jesus did: go to the lost and show them the way. Acting on obedience to the Great Commission is... well... obedience. And God rewards obedience.

 | Ron Hodgman (0) 11/03/2007 | I do not approve of his dumbing down of Christianity and his one shoe fits all mechanical approach to winning converts to the faith. The Titanic gospel message tract of Ray Comfort really upsets me because of its historical errors. Ray Comfort should do more research and check his facts before making statements that are beyond question not true.

 | Petite (0) 08/01/2007 | Ray comforts one size fits all type of evangelisim is creative and under some circumstances may work but in many circumstances does more damage than good his motto "what did jesus do" is only partly practised in his outreach. Jesus didnt approach everyone with the same hell fire and brimstone spiel but to different people he used different techniques and different ways of drawing the peoples interest.

 | Gentle Jude (23) 05/09/2007 | Initially I felt Ray was a bit too hard for my liking because God saved me with love (See Jude 22 (King James Version)) as it is the goodness of God that leads to repentance. Knowing that God loved me and was such a gentle, beautiful God, that lead me to truly repent. God already revealed to me that there was a hell and about sin, but it was done with so much love and gentleness.
But after growing in Christ and growing in discernment, I've come to see that Ray has a wonderful heart. In the past I gave him a 3 rating, but now I push that up. I don't give him a 5 because although he has a lot of good points (I will get to them), and although we are to warn some people with the fear of God as Ray does, the hellfire method doesn't work on everyone and to preach that this is the ONLY way of saving a person, from experience and even just looking at the rater Beloved's weblist 'Salvation' (hellfire method is almost at the bottom, just read the comments written in this yet gentle love approach is at the top), this is not true.
There are various ways of getting a person to come to the decision to commit to Jesus and there is no 'right' or 'only' way. Just as long as a person repents and commits/gives their life to Jesus (believes), they will be saved. I believe Ray has been called to witness to the people who think they are good people therefore don't need God or people who are just deluded and think 'we all go to heaven, hell isn't a literal place' There are a great multitude of people who believe that and just think being 'good' is enough to go to heaven. They are mistaken and in for a shocking surprise. Yet God loves those people just as tenderly and as much as the people who need the gentle, love approach to accept the Great Sacrafice on the Cross. Ray has been called to those people.
The only other point is that maybe I don't agree on everything he says and can be a little heavy.
On the POSITIVE side, he is on a mission and is anointed, he has a genuine heart and I just wish all evangelists were as genuine as Ray. If that were so, evangelists would have a far better reputation by the world then they do now. Plus he has such a strong passion to save the lost and he has certainly woke me up! Glory to the God who has created him. What I also love about Ray and Kirk (who is just as good) is, well, don't mean to offend anyone but usually Christian movies are poor quality and the acting is poor. Yet when Ray does something, he does it properly, just look at his website! Even his website is so good, I certainly wouldn't be ashamed of showing that to the most carnel minded person who hated Christian things. Because he is so genuine and real, I also feel he gives glory to God and doesn't do half witted, alcheapo things. And he isn't after your money like a lot of grubby evangelists are, but just wants people to get saved, even offering free resources on his website. I also love his sense of humour. Although I may have my negative points listed above, the positive outweigh the negative therefore he gets a high rating.

 | Donovan (128) 05/06/2007 | Ray Comfort is a man of God and this is evident by the
working of God in his life and how he is being used. Ray is hitting the streets
where the people live asking hard questions. We all should be out there
following the Great Commission. Are you doing your part? God needs servants;
God needs people, who love people, who are willing to serve.

 | LadyJesusFan777 (33) 05/05/2007 | Ray Comfort is a soul winner for Christ. His program "Way of the Master" is a true blessing to me.
Update: By the way, those of you who are marking unhelpful, I count it a blessing, and here is why, right from the Holy Bible:
John 15:18-25 "If the world hates you, you know that it hated
Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love
its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of
the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said
to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted
Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep
yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name's sak,
because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken
to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their
sin. He who hates Me hates My Father also. If I had not done among them
the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they
have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. But this happened that
the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated
Me without a cause.'"

I've watched a video he produced on how to effectively do street preaching, and it was very insightful and helpful.
There may be a few doctrinal differences that I have with his beliefs, but I have no issue with him as a Godly man fulfilling the Great Commision!

 | bytheblood (1) 04/22/2007 | He teaches repent and believe the gospel. Repent means to change your mind and I agree but it does not mean to turn from sin as he uses it. If you could turn from sin, you could save yourself. Only after you believe the gospel, which is that Jesus died and rose again and that did all that was necessary, then the Holy Spirit turns you from sin. You cannot do it in the flesh!!!! That is one of the reasons people are not being saved because they are not getting a clear definition of the gospel! You cannot use catchphrases!!! Overall, if you have to suffer through most religious programming, he is one of the better ones.

On June 1st, 2006, Secret Service agents showed up at the office of Great News Network in Dallas, Texas
and demanded their entire stock of $1 million dollar gospel tracts that
are produced by Ray Comforts ministry, Living Waters. The tracts are
used by Ray Comfort and his co-host Kirk Cameron and have been promoted
on their national television program.
Reports were that the Secret Service was going to pay a visit to Comforts national offices in Bellflower, California and confiscate their entire stock. Apparently someone in North Carolina took one of the $1 million dollar tract to a bank and tried to deposit it into their account.

 | MirageRC (1) 02/08/2007 | From what I know of him, he seems to be biblically accurate. He challenges non believers to examine the Ten Commandments as measuring stick for their goodness. This makes them see that they aren't so good. I like his approach and from what I've seen of him, I can't say anything bad about. As some have suggested, his ties with Kirk Cameron are cause for a little concern because I don't agree with the whole Left Behind series. However, that is a secondary issue that no one needs to divide over.

 | dogpreacha (1) 03/30/2005 | Ray has it right as far as the presentation of the WHOLE Gospel! You must start with the law first(read Apostle Pauls' writings about this...not powerful pauls'). The Law shows us our sin, our state...our plight, if you will, which leaves us in need of a Saviour!there are minor things negative about his shows, but overall a GOOD servant!

 | ChuckG (0) 02/11/2005 | By the comments I've read so far I'd say that only a few of you are familiar with Ray's teachings. It's odd how you take the time to come in here and write a review on a person or subject you don't appear to know much about??? I've read most of his books - listened to just about all of his tapes - watched him on television - and can say that his teaching is biblically sound. To lend credance to my opinion I'll say that I have attended a Christian University as a Bible major and have studied under what I consider to be some of the greatest theological teachers of our time. I'm a deacon at my church - I teach a class on evangelism in my church on Sunday mornings - and I co-lead our Sunday evening youth worship program. Ray's method of evangelism is the same method that Jesus Himself uses in scripture. In my opinion, Ray Comfort and all of the literature, tapes, programs....that he offers on evangelism are the most biblical sound and therefore most effective way to reach unsaved people.

 | Powerful Paul (0) 01/10/2005 | Although I think he is a sincere Christian who really wants to equip the Christian for evangelism, and really loves God, I don't agree with his approach. His approach is to mix the Law of Moses with Grace. You can't really do that (you can, but not with sacrificial, or ceremonial laws or observing specific days, or punishments eg putting an adulturer to death). We are under the Law of Love which means we obey God and all the moral principles of the Law, but it is not observing specific days or going to church that gets you saved. The impression I get of him and through some of his writings is that he believes we are saved by grace (believing in the sacrifice and life and Being of Jesus), PLUS obedience to the law. Plus I strongly disagree with his approach to getting people saved. He believes that if we expose thier sins to them under the light of the Ten Commandments, then they will repent and be saved. Ie when you think about it, we should tell a non-Christian that they are evil, no good and God is angry with them, then out of fear, they will come to Jesus. Somehow, I can't imagine that approach working on someone who was abused as a child and had strick, unloving parents who hated them and done psychological damage to them. Or someone who is in a gang living on the streets. That is why some people are put off by church and religion, because of the fact that preachers were strict and condemming. But I also don't think it is good to preach on prosperity all the time and appeal to human selfishness and have a 'What can God do for me' type mentality. He doesn't do that which is good. Put it this way, his approach wouldn't have worked on me, infact, he would have made me run even more and think that God hates me. It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance (ie his love and kindness). I'm not dismissing his approach alltogether because there are a lot of people who respond to that, plus, there is a time and a place for judgement. Although he is sincere, he should be a little higher on grace and love and change his approach. He also knows a hec of a lot about the bible and its origens which is good. His web site is impressive.

 | Godsword (0) 10/30/2004 | I liked Ray while I was a babe in Christ.
The thing that kept me from growing more and more is the continual WOTM evangelism._______ I was pretty interested in his style and approach._________But then I read John 16:7-11._________ It made it pretty clear, I was waving a paid bill in peoples faces and telling them they should look at just what was paid for so they would appreciate it better?._______ WOW, hell's best kept secret is that Christ in you is the hope of glory and upon the revelation that He is the Son of God is the foundation that Christ builds (and continues to build) the church upon and the gates of hell will not prevail against it._________ Ray is EXTREMELY right when he quotes 1 John 1:8-10, and I repeat, if anyone says that they have not sinned is decieving themselves....... however... when God says that I am His son saved by grace through faith, the faith that He gave me, and that I am the righteousness of God, I am not going to dismiss that. ________ I mean come on... is the gospel good news or great news?_______Just read what the Bible has to say about this issue.________Take God at His word, don't be like Eve in Genesis 3.
Rather be like Lazarus, who, even after being brought back from the dead, still had to be loosed of his bonds.

 | cheetah (0) 09/19/2004 | I put a 3-star rating so you would look. You preacher-bashers should all be ashamed of yourselves. I will admit, I had done the same thing to preachers until God got a hold of me and reduced me to almost nothing. One of my problems was that I had looked for faults of preachers, then talked about it. I will say, that no matter how bad a preacher is, or how unscrupulous they appear or have been, if they are getting souls saved by preaching even a part of the Word of God, they should be supported. Thank God there are people who will support them. I wouldn't support every minister out there simply because I couldn't, for one, but also God has put a burden on my heart to support one or two right now. I am not against any other minister as long as they are preaching the Word and getting souls that much closer to Christ. What about those who have large wealth? Okay, take Joyce Meyer. Who cares if she can afford fancy outfits and buy a house worth a few million? Do you suppose that maybe, just maybe, she worked for it? What about all the money her and her ministry GAVE before she was able to get that home---1 million, 10 million,---100 million? I wouldn't doubt it! Anyone who has worked hard enough and made the money for God deserves, according to the Bible, to keep a percentage of that! If you have a problem with what some of these ministers make or have, you may be closer to a communistic mind-set than you think. One of the wonderful things about America is that we can earn as much as we wish and can, then do with it whatever we wish. It's too bad that there are people out there who misuse welfare and expect others to support them all the time. Also, any minister who makes a living dissecting other ministries and finding faults with them should be ashamed of themselves. That is such a despicable way to make a buck! Please reconsider what you are doing before you attack one of God's servants. Even if they are doing wrong in our eyes, we must not judge, but prayfully support them. The world needs the Word preached, even if it is preached by someone who is not perfect---remember, all man is fallable. This means that preachers make mistakes too! Thanks for reading my comments.

Not enough preachers are presenting the Gospel clearly, with both the Law and Grace included.
In spite of the number of Biblical preachers available to people in the United States (alone) today, Ray is standing shockingly alone in the clarity, content, and accuracy of the Gospel Truth.
