Supposedly this state is "Republican," but I've seen so much more support for Obama here than for McCain.

Come on....Are u serious? Alaska as a "Battle Ground" state? Its the redest state there is. Why is it on this list?

If the endorsement of a single person from the other party makes that much difference I guess that means New Jersey will go to McCain thanks to George Fallon. Anyway...

I think the choice of the very popular Governor Palin as McCain's VP puts any speculation there might have been about Alaska to rest.

This one could get interesting. The Republicans are rocked by scandal here, and the Republican Mayor of Fairbanks just endorsed Obama. During the 1970s a large number of "back to the land" hippies moved here, and they and their kids are just beginning to make inroads into Alaska politics. I don't think Obama will win here, but if he forces McCain to visit Alaska he'll have McCain on the ropes.

Bush beat Kerry 61% - 36%. '08 should be similar.
