Obama will win Minnesota but maybe not by a wide margin.

this is actually a state that has been trending republican in recent years. it hasn't voted republican in a national election since 1972, but the state government is controlled by the republicans and one of their senators is a republican too. i expect this state to remain in the democratic column in november, but the republicans will try to make the race here. Like in Michigan and elsewhere in the north, blue collar resentment towards obama might help mccain, thus giving him a reasonable chance. polls suggest a single digit lead for obama, hence gop optimism here.

Obama all the way, even if McCain chooses Pawlenti for VP. I also think Al Franken will pull out an upset win over Coleman.
