 | abichara (62) 08/13/2008 | this will be a very competitive contest. McCain has a slight edge here, but the housing crisis, which has hit Las Vegas hard, might help fuel Democratic turnout here. The rural areas of the state are solidly Republican, but urban Las Vegas leans Democrat. Much will depend on turnout here. If the Democrats manage to turn out their union base in Vegas, this state will go to them. but right now, i have it leaning republican. nevada's libertarian sensibilities, especially on economic matters helps republicans here.

 | Drummond (58) 08/12/2008 | Obama is making a big play for Nevada and it's paying off in the polls. He just hit McCain hard on the Yucca Mountain issue, with clips of McCain saying it's okay to dump nuclear waste in Nevada, but not in Arizona. Unless the Obama campaign implodes, I'm calling this state for him.
