It may be a little more touristy than your average Parisian street, but as the city's (and possibly the world's) grandest boulevard, it's definitely worth spending at least a few hours here. Look past the upscale chain stores and check out the architecture, trees, and layout. The view of the Arch de Triomphe is great, but the view of the avenue from the Arch is even better, especially at sunset or late at night. Be sure to stop by the famous Laduree tea salon and try the macarons.

This is one of the things you need to do while in Paris. While it is not tourist place per say, it will give you an opportunity to feel like a real Parisian. Stop in a little cafe and have a pastry and coffee and just watch the people and even if for just a little while pretend you live there. Trust me, it is a neat feeling. The shops along here are lengendary and you might even see a famous person or two.

Very busy-lots of restaurants and stores.

I can't imagine visiting Paris and not walking down this famous avenue. It's very fun to see all of the shops that have very expensive, one of a kind items. At night it is all lit up and lots of activity. Pick an outdoor patio cafe and watch the people go by.

Avenue des Champs-Elysees is located in the heart of Paris. It is probably the main bustling street in the city, which ends at the Place de Concorde. I had a chance to walk the street and found it quite interesting. Although few historical attractions are found there. There are a number of great stores (which are very expensive). The traffic, pollution and noise are horrible, thus I gave it a 4 rating instead of a 5.

Shopping there during the day was fun, and good variety of stores, but the salespeople were VERY rude, probably because I'm an American. I didn't feel welcome. Yummy restaurants and I love sitting in the cafes, watching people go by. I spent New Year's there and had a great time. CRAZY!!! Tons of great people and energy, but there was a fight which I, of course, didn't enjoy.

Very dirty! Lots of dog droppings. Needs more cleaning.

Very pretty area with a lot going on. Definitely visit it at night with the lights illuminating the Arc de Triumph (I'm sure I mispelled that). Lot's of sidewalk cafe's and clubs.

Not as high-class as I expected, but it's always fun to be where the people are--once in every city.

In many respects, a place to see, and not be seen. The time of day you choose means everything- even clerks can get tired. Caution. The Metro by the Arche de Triomphe (sp) closes at 1:00 A.M. give or take one hour.

Just another street.
