Notre Dame is a must see from a river cruise and inside. There are pickpockets so beware, but please when you see that sign warning you DO NOT touch wherever your wallet and belongings are. It is an immediate thing to do when you see that, but when you do you just show the pickpockets where your stuff is. Once inside it is a view that will make your mouth drop. The stained glass, the carved wood, the high ceilings and the monks and priests walking around are very nice. I am not Catholic but, I did light a candle and say a silent prayer. I do advise a visit to the park in the back, the flying buttresses are amazing and the park itself is very serene and peaceful. Others don't know about it and it is often overlooked, so it is a nice place to relax and enjoy to church and the view of the Seine River.

Notre Dame was one of the first things we went to go and see when we went to Paris on holiday at the end of last year as my partner knew I would love it. Notre Dame is quite an imposing structure as it rises above you the nearer you get. When you get closer to it you can see all the magnificent detailing of the building on the eve of the door and going up. When you go inside the sheer size takes your breath away even more and the stained glass windows (which are round) are absolutely splendid. When we had walked around (being very quiet as people pray there still) we went the whole way round the building to see the mass of gargoyles that adorn the side. When you get to the back (near the carpark) and you look up to teh steeple where the bell is, you can see (if I remember correctly) 3 figures of men which look like they are climbing up. I think the best way to get a proper look of the Notre Dame is to take a cruise of the Seine as you pass the cathederal along the way.

It has become tradition to always visit Notre Dame, and light a candle for each of my family members when in Paris. This is a place to feel a divine presence.

Very impressive and very dark. I didn't have time to take the tour, but was very impressed from walking around the main entrance.

No more, or less, beautiful than any other cathedral in Europe. Was disappointed at the emphasis placed on warning people about pickpockets (must be a serious problem). The first time there, beggars were accosting tourist just outside and the French police just stood around and watched. Still, a must see when in Paris!

The Notre Dame is a beautiful Cathedral, but the view from the back garden is all you need to see. My favorite Cathedral was, by far, the one from the middle ages by the government buildings.

If you're into Gothic architecture, you will probably like Notre Dame. All of the doorways are adorned with really cool figures and are very intricate. Both towers and nearly all of the roofs are covered with a variety of gargoyles ranging from small to enormous. There is a park located behind Norte Dame which is open during the day.

I didn't want to display my tourist's view inside Notre Dame. I didn't take any pictures inside. I went to Mass and enjoyed thinking of how time had changed. The walls held a certain mysticism.

Notre Dame is a great place to go if you are particularly interested in architecture. Otherwise, I think there are more lively places to go in Europe.

The view at the top, along with the famous gargoyles, is well worth the climb.

This place amazed me. It was nothing like what I expected and everything I thought all at once. As cheesy as it may sound, my favorite part was seeing the beautiful stained glass windows that are shown in the Disney movie "Hunchback...". And if you buy the Museum Pass, there is no need to stand in line!
