ItemImageKing Felipe V commissioned the 26-year construction of this palace, following a fire that destroyed the original structure. Today, only 50 of its 2800 rooms are open for visitors, including the Royal Pharmacy, the Royal Armoury, and the Library. Palacio Real remains the official residency of the Spanish monarchy, although they do not currently reside there.

It was pretty cool to see, but like Avelis said, you couldn't take pictures inside. All in all, I'd say go see it if you don't have anything specific planned for the day.

History is interesting, not too exciting though. You can't take picutures inside.

Very cool. It was under construction when I was there, and it was STILL worth going to see. In its feel, it falls somewhere between the stately, regal government buildings of London, and the stylishly run down historical buildings of Paris.
