Very nice place, but some people bring dog inside the fountain, no control ver this matter, Rome in general has the problem with the tourism service, that the some native guys don't care the people that come to visit rome and won't offer the best service in restaurant and cafes that is the principal income, te city of Rome don't regulate good the cafe and restaurant rules, no all prices are uniform and the quality of service has great contract, in some place product's offered do no correspont to shown in the menu. Rome needs to improve the service to the visitors and the city need to has most control over that.

This is a great location in Rome to view the interaction between the locals and the tourists. You can watch nuns eating frozen yogurt, Italian boys hitting on female tourists of all ages, and young children from all over throwing change into the fountain. The fountain itself is something to be marveled at. The sheer size and volume of water being moved from and to all over will surely amaze.

The Trevi Fountain, like many of the other attractions in Rome, is beautiful. There are always lots of people around the fountain, so expect to wait a while to take a really good picture of you and the fountain. This is truly a sight to not miss.

As others have said, this is a must-see sight in Rome. It is set in sort of a cramped area, but it's really great for people-watching, even if it tends to get overcrowded during the tourist season (sort of like Charles Bridge in Prague!). There is (at least there was between 1946 and 1996!) a pretty good ice cream shop on the corner to the right of the fountain as you face the fountain - there are better ice cream places in Rome, but this isn't bad at all. There's also a salumeria where you used to be able to get decent made-to-order sandwiches at reasonable prices located to your left rear as you face the fountain. The pizza places on the streets that lead into the fountain tend to be overpriced and not that great. All of that said, see it by all means, once by day and once by night if at all possible.

Funny story about the protesting Roman fella who made his living off of the coins thrown into the Trevi fountain. I wasn't much of a help- I only threw in American coins. The fountain os nice- blue, blue water. Not the top attraction of Rome, but worth seeing.

Trevi Fountain is the most elaborate, spectacular fountain I have ever seen. It's right in the middle of a very busy area, and it kind of surprises you when you first see it. It's gigantic! I visited Trevi Fountain during the day, and I wish I'd stopped by at night, too, to see the lights. (The area was extremely crowded, and I just couldn't face dealing with the masses again.) If you go to Rome, Trevi Fountain is a must-see attraction.

Okay, so it's huge and aroque and has a fun little ritual attached to it. But when you get right down to it, it's just a foutain. It's not that exciting. You don't get to climb stairs or walk all around it, or even look at it up close. You elbow in through the crowds, throw in your coin, walk back and forth in front of it a few times. Total time elapsed: About 5 minutes. Go see the bone church by the Barberini metro station instead. (Capella dei Cappuccini)

Very romantic. Ask some of the locals about the traditions of tossing coins into the fountain.

If you are in Rome, you should not miss throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain, especially at night when it is all lit up. It's a very romantic spot - I would advise sitting out in one of the big piazzas, having a glass of wine, and taking a stroll past Trevi Fountain with your honey - it's not a bad way to set the mood.

When in Rome, attend the Pub Crawl along the Spanish Steps. Their is nothing grander than walking past the Trevi Fountain at night with the water lit up blue and the sculptures gleaming in the night as you stumble past it in a drunken stupor.
