Much more interesting than I thought it would be! There is a audio tour which lets you explore further into each part of the Church. No Photos, but there is a store. Visit a few final resting places of famous British poets (and some actors) in Poets Corner!

The Abbey is a wonderful place, but they do not allow photographs. I felt this was one downside to the visit, but I do understand it is a place of worship. There are many famous poets, writers, scientist, and other of British fame buried in the Abbey so do a little research and see if any of your favorites are located there. It was amazing to see Darwin and Lewis Carroll, so I would suggest making this a stop!

I would not say this Building is as important as people may say!!! There are in my opinion places in the UK that have more significant value than Westminster Abbey!!! Most don't realize that the Queen of Scots bore a Son that actually brought the UK together as one and yet this plays no real historic value in Britain or London; it is how we got our nations flag. The founders of the British government and were it was formed, is extremely important. Most governments in the world fall back on British ways when it comes to Politics and standards! (Houses of parliament.) Plymouth was the birth of the most historic Navy in the world, I could go on!!! Westminster although beautiful and steeped in history is not the pinnacle of the UK. There is so much more in the UK than just Westminster Abbey.

Westminster Abbey is one of those places that give you goose bumps visiting. The place is steeped in English history in many ways. It is where the king or queen is coronated. It is where many royals, over the years, have been buried. As well, many actors and authors are buried here. There is a special tribute to Britain's great friend: Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I don't think you can visit Westmister Abbey and not be moved by the enormity of life that is represented there.

I don’t know what it takes to impress some people, but this building, which has marvelously and maybe even miraculously survived since the 13th century is truly an architectural masterpiece. It is huge, lofty, gorgeous and awe inspiring both inside and out. Entering Westminster Abbey is like suddenly traveling back into times long gone by. It is a monument not only to English architecture but also to British wisdom in having the foresight to preserve the best their history has to offer. The only drawback (when I was there anyway) is that it was packed wall-to-wall with people to the point that you couldn’t take it all in quite as well as you might like. That did kind of kill the dramatic effect just a bit and left me wondering just how really amazing it would be to walk around inside when nobody else was around.

the building itself isn't all that impressive, but the history certainly is.

This is actually an impressive place. It's a huge, beautiful church with a cemetary inside of all the past royalty. Nobody expects that! Interesting for about an hour.

A must see! Gorgeous architecture, probably the most historic structure in England. The site of celebrations, weddings, and the famous Poct's Corner, where great Britons of distinction are buried.
