This great ediface was known as Masjid Shah when I lived in Esfahan in the mid-1970s. The scale and color of the building are both moving. I also like the way it was slanted to make up for the Maidan not letting it point toward Makkah using right angles. I revisited the now-renamed mosque in 2001 and found it just as moving.
