This holiday classic stars Chevy Chase as Clark W. Griswold. When both sets of parents join the family along with Cousin-In-Law Eddie, it makes for a laugh a minute comedy for the ages. (Add picture)

this is a movie we watch every year. the Griswald family faces having relatives on both sides of the family at their home for Christmas. not to mention obnoxious neighbors. some funny scenes Mae Questal is funny as aunt bethany. and Randy Quaid reprised his role as cousin Eddie. funny movie

Another Classic! Chevy Chase is almost as good as this one as he was in Fletch.

This is the movie that my family watches during the holidays. NOT "It's a Wonderful Life" or stuff like that - this movie.
"Merry Christmas - the sh**ter was full!"

Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.

One of the best comedy movies ever made...even the best "Vacation" movie for being a sequel. Everything about this movie was good for a laugh or two! I still comment on houses with gaudy Christmas lights being a "Griswold" house! A good friend was an extra in it too...which I found out much later. Met him long after the movie came out.

It had its funny moments, but the original took most of the wind out of the series.

This one long ago joined the ranks of my family's Christmas Movie Collection and is now an annual must watch. From the beginning scenes as the Griswold's venture out (apparently from suburban Chicago into the far north Canadian wilderness) for their extra-large Christmas tree to the wacky but happy ending this crazy vacation movie is always fun to experience. If nothing else, when you watch the Griswolds going through their escapades it can make any holiday woes your family is experiencing feel like a day at the beach.

How this was not on the list before is beyond me? Not only one of the great Holiday films, but to me, one of the top 2 or 3 funniest movies of all time.

"Is your house on fire Clark?" "No Aunt Bethany those are Christmas lights!"

"If that cat had 9 lives he just spent em' all!"

"That there is an RV, it's a good lookin' vehicle!"

"Don't go falling in love with it now, cause we are takin' it with us when we leave here next month!"

I know I've rated this on atleast one other list on RIA, but I'll give it some support here as well. Christmas Vacation is easily the best movie in the Vacation franchise. It is Chevy Chase at his best, and a classic that can be enjoyed all year round. However, it is almost criminal to change the channel or walk out of the room if Christmas vaction is on between Thanksgiving and New Years!
