RateItAll survived the departure of Jean-Paul Sartre back in the 1920's when it was a quarterly pamphlet distributed in the cafes of Paris and was called "l'journale measurement du l'monde existentiale" every bit as well as it survived the departure of Ingatius J Reilly. They come and go. The great ones come back under an assumed name and fake accent.

Christophino and Cornelbox were damn fine reviewers but you got to hold out for better ones along the way.

What brings me back here from time to time is the RIA regulars like Numbah, Irishgit, and Genghis.  I feel like i am part of a family here.

I come here because I enjoy the site...not because of any particular other reviewers. As long as there is somewhat interesting content to attract me, then I likely won't stray far.

Yes, we have lost some great reviewers, but it is not a good reason to leave RIA.

Come on guys, we still have a fine stock of reviewers old and new...
Although we'll never replace the characters themselves who left, there will always be new characters coming through who will keep the lifeblood of the site up and flowing.

Hey, look on the bright side... I'M STILL HERE!

Some of my favorite people on here have left and others are still here.  Not to mention that new people keep coming along to keep things going.

  It's indeed true that some great reviewers have gone, but it is equally untrue that ' all' of the great reviewers have left. But let's not overemphasize this or keep it in an improper perspective or get pompous about it- it's not like there will be one great reviewer left dancing in a cemetery with gravestones of well regarded reviewers saying "I outlived  them all" like Belushi in that famous SNL skit!

In the words of the Flaming Lips:

"And...everyone...you know..someday...will die... ( Ten helpfuls and a crate of pomegranate juice to whoever can correctly identify that quote)

So, if someone else decided to jump off of a bridge, are you going to do the same? When people want to move on, that is their decision. We are in charge of our own lives. Or should be.

Sure a lot of great reviewers have left over the years, but if you're here because of someone else then your wasting your time. Your values and stance on topics should not change just because someone left the site.
