Isaac's life was not as exciting as the ones of the other patriarchs, but his importance is ideed of great significance. He was the son that God promised to Abraham and Sarah when they were very old and Sarah was barren. On his deathbed, Isaac was deceived by his son Jacob and gave him the blessing that belonged to his brother Esau.
