Yes, indeed. A truly great museum. The pre Columbian history and anthropology is amazing. While Europe was in the Dark Ages, Mexico was flourishing.

This is the most impressive collection of pre-colombian art and history yet. If you ever visit Mexico City, this is a MUST! Even if you can't spend the whole two days it would take to see it from beginning to end...

We spent an entire day at the museum and learned a great deal about the country’s culture and history. One of the more interesting sections was were they described how Mexico City was built and how it most likely looked when it was an island in the middle of the lake. They had a model showing how they built causeway road systems from the lake banks back to the island. The pottery, artwork, and carved metals were spectacular.

One of the most fascinating historical museums I've ever visited. One day here was not enough -- the place is HUGE!

An amazing glimpse into the history of Mexico and Central America. Definitely spend the 15 pesos for a guide - they are available in most languages and in my opinion, do a superb job of bringing the history to life. The presentation of the regions ancient cultures, from the Toltecs to the Aztecs, is outstanding.
