One of the few over-used phrases that still has some resonance, provided its used in reasonable context.

When people start talking about the bottom line on their dogfood reviews, its quite another matter.

"And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold said so."

Sorry, had to do it.

Works for my boss. Works for me. Works for my shareholders. Don't see the problem and that's the b- (okay, I'll spare you.)

In my humble opinion we'd leverage more synergy with a holistc approach.

There comes a time when every word or phrase becomes old, so where would a person really draw the line?

Yeah, I'm always waiting for user to insert details. Ya know, the bottom line, whatever it might be, is usually serious business. And another thing. Why does this bottom line change from one person to the next? How 'bout we just delete the bottom line and start from the top? Oh my goodness. I spend way too much time on the comp these days.

Whose "bottom line" are these people talking about anyways? Peoples opinion of what this phrase means is only their opinion! But I do see how some people might feel like they have to use it. Still it is annoying though.

I've heard this used when people are really talking about the top line. There's a big difference!

IMHO, to be honest, at the end of the day, persons who use this phrase should be thrown under the bus.
