. . . is it just me, or did you die a little inside when they started using this song for KFC commericials or what?

I must confess that despite always disliking "Southern Rock" in general and Lynyrd Skynyrd in particular, this song was always sort of a guilty pleasure for me. But over-saturation can destroy any pleasure in life, it seems. After nearly 40 years of perpetual and constant radio airplay, I turn the song off immediately now whenever it comes on. Too bad; it was the one thing Lynyrd Skynyrd ever did, in my humble opinion, that was worth anything.

This is a good song, and a decent riff, but it has aged badly, and it's beginning to get on my nerves now...
