it used to be. Michigan was a big automobile maker. we had Oldsmobile plant where I grew up. A lot of those jobs have gone away and sent other places. too bad that is part of why Michigan is in a hard way. those jobs are gone and they cannot get the kind of pay they were getting at those factories. dang good pay but in most of the country factory jobs are going to foreign countries. {as everyone already knows}

It could be, but a lot of the autoworkers in MI are offered assistance in higher learning (unknown if this is true all around the country). It depends on if the person is ok in their current position. Great money! My grandfather raised three boys by for GM.
