Living here near Knoxville I get tired of Tennessee getting crammed down my throat (Im a sooner fan)....but I love Bruce Pearl and what he has done for this program. The previous men's bb coaches have been intimidated by Pat Summit and the football program...Pearl embraced it! He has brought a fun side out in Pat Summit again and supports this school all the way.(not to say he will never move on, I am a realist) He is recruiting well and the fans (ok, even non TN fans) love him! He is media friendly embracing ESPN and the local media. His demeanor has Knoxville by storm. He bought fans waiting outside for tickets pizza early on in his time here. He goes to several live broadcasts of the local sports shows and talks directly with the fans.
The mens games used to have 1000 people in the stands and now they fill Thomson Boling to capacity. I don't know if they have the consistancy right now to make the elite 8 but when it comes to mens college basketball I say GO VOLS!
