 | zuchinibut (44) 07/25/2008 | Drillbit Taylor felt like a PG-13 version of Superbad to me. It was funny, but it lacked some of the hilarious and raunchy bite that recent Apatow films have had. It could also be compared to Apatow's Freaks and Geeks, although Drillbit Taylor had more of a slapstick feel to it than his TV show. Owen Wilson was the star, but there were many parts were I felt like he brought things down. The kids in the film were the funniest part. There was a great supporting cast with many comedic actors who wouldn't be well known to most of the general public. There were laught out loud moments for me, but there were some slow points in the film as well. Overall it was a good comedy and worth a watch, but won't go down as a classic on anybody's list.
