All they need is a PIN number that you make up (six to nine digits long), which they enter on their phonepad when they dial in. You can have up to 50 participants on your conference call at any one time. In free conference calls no recording is available. You can use Powwownow from any touch tone phone, a landline, pay phone, mobile and even Skype - in the same way as you would make any other phone call. The charges will include just a cost of the long-distance call to the provided number.
