Vote when you are 18+, and get your kids involved in whats important for others and not just themselves at a very young age. While younger Americans may rank lower on experience and older ranks higher on racial bias and so forth, its all stereotypes, and its not fair to judge an age group like that, especially when new groups of people move in and out of it.

It remains to be seen whether this will be bourne out--usually the older the demographic, the more frequently they vote. But Barack Obama's campaign in particular has turned out the youth vote more effectively than recent candidates. It will be interesting to see how this impacts the 2008 elections. If Obama can hold their attention and keep them enthusiatic through November, it might make a difference.
