Here we have the American Isreal Public Affairs Committee. It describes itself as America's Pro-Israel lobby. It has to shoulder some of the blame for the Iraq war. AIPAC dearly wanted to bring down Saddam because of his opposition to Israel.
It is so powerful, few American politicians can buck it and survive long in politics.
