 | oscargamblesfro (76) 03/31/2008 | 3.5 A good piece of mellow psychedelic rock with a pretty simple, understated jazz bassline, carnival barker voices, accordions, etc. A depressing song about loneliness in the spring with a great chorus from an obscure Boston/ New York band with good harmonies and decent musicianship- a pretty cool name that only put out one album in 1968. The band featured several well known local musicians, but are perhaps best known for including smarmy future tv and movie starter Chevy Chase who plays drums and piano. Fortunately, Chase only sang one tune- which is positively awful, and Chase then went on to work for National Lampoon and of course SNL, while the other members joined various largely forgotten acts back in Boston. Some of this band's music was good, and somewhat similar to acts like The Left Banke, Hollies, or some of McCartney's most mellow Beatles numbers like "I Will" or "The Fool On The Hill."
