Drama, comedy, good script. You cannot not like the characters (Mr Kringelein, the bookkeeper who wants to spend the last days in a select company, the nice secretary, the affable thief). I don't care that it won an Oscar or that it was a big success at the time, not even that there are many very good actors in it (that, maybe, indirectly). Highly recommendable.
