Good, if unspectacular announcer. Very much a journeyman, in that he showed up, did his job and didn't inject much of himself into it.

Curt was all right, he was the Red Sox announcer a long time ago...Back when I was about 17 or something, I went to see "The Naked Gun" with some friends. An old drunk wandered in and sat in the row behind us and, slurring, roared out 'Heyyyy...Curt Gowdy...Now why did he move out west?"
