I watched many a game on WTBS and listened to Skip. He had some good moments. I remember back when the Braves had a bad team in the early or mid-1980's.
In a game against the Cardinals, it went 15 or 16 innings. Finally, Whitey Herzog of the Cardinals used all his pitchers with the exception of next day's starter. Whitey put in Jose Oquendo, the shortstop. Jose held the Brave's hitless or at least scoreless for three innings. Skip noted that if the Braves lost this game, it would be the blackest day in Braves' history. I thought that was a great line. Finally Jose gave up a run and that was it.
