Studio or live, it's a great rock tune. "I'm gonna smash down all your stained-glass windows. . ." It's bad-ass, bluesy, full of just enough attitude and sleaze. Great track.

I have to second what Oscar said: I LOVE the studio version, and always found the live version boring in comparison. It's an excellent build-up of suspense and tension leading to the explosively brutal finale. When the Stones were great, there really was no one else in the world who could touch them, and this song came from that period when they were absolutely brilliant. Susan Brownmiller, a feminist who became involved in Women Against Pornography, would later cite this song as one of the clearest examples of the Stones' systemic misogyny.

Scalding, incandescent song from the best years of the Stones.

"Did you hear about the Boston Strangler....."

Unlike many, I prefer the studio version to the live one. Mentions the Boston Strangler and other insanity and mayhem- kind of reminds me of The Stones doing The Doors doing a blues tune... A brilliant 'Let It Bleed" song from the era when they would have ripped all of these awful popular rock acts of today a new ass....
