Invisible reviews would seem to require that the rater possesses the One Ring, which is unfortunately currently in the hands of the Dispensensationalists or whatever they're called...

This isn't such a bad idea... I could see having a "Talk" section where people could post things that didn't specifically rate individual items...

Sometimes a topic is worth a review but I find it hard to rate it, either because the rating is out of my range or because it is not a topic that is meant to be rated. Update: One more reason to pre approve any topic or list. Oh, boy, I feel so embarrassed after magellan's review. Update: why should anyone be forced to rate a topic? Can anyone have an idea or opinion and not find it ratable? The point is: if you write a review you must rate it, like it or not. If you don't think a topic deserves a rating, the you can't review it.

But this site is RATE it all. Unfortunately, the ratings part of it is probably one of the only non negotiable aspects of the site.
