I don't need beans for my chili, but I'm not against it either. Kidney beans seem to be the standard option for many people, but I don't like to overdo them. I like a nice mix of beans with black beans and black eyed peas as two of my favorites.

An interesting mix of kidney, black, and maybe a couple others makes for a hearty chili. Don't forget to add meat. :)

the only beans I have used are red kidney tastes okay. My daughter hates this so have to cut back on them would not over do this to the chili.

I'll second the pink beans. Kidney beans are OK, but they're a little too starchy for my liking.

I've made chili both with and without beans. You can add beans right at the end, or even use them as a topping to pile on your bowl right before you serve. I recommend California pink beans.

Black beans for me. I can live without beans if I have too, but I prefer them.

There are only two kinds of people- bean or sans beans people. I don't need them, but I will throw in some dark kidneys if my guests like them.
