Atlanta has got to be the tough luck city of pro sports. The Falcons have flashes of mild success every few years and the Hawks tease their fans from time to time. The Braves did manage to win one World Series title, but for the most part the best they can say is they have been consistently good over the last several years. I don't know of any Consistently Good Trophies being on display anywhere.

It seems like every time an Atlanta team starts to turn things around, it's only gives the fans false hope. The Hawks finally managed to break their playoff drought, and what do they get for their efforts? A first round thrashing from the Celtics. Atlanta teams just seem to have bad luck.

Atlanta goes to show that regular season records aren't everything.

The various incarnations of NHL teams seldom came within sniffing distance of the playoffs, the NFL and NBA franchises have seldom been models of excellence, and haven't a ring between them and the MLB Braves can win everything except a title.
