As the uniform number of the fabled Oscar Gamble this has to be worth at least 3 stars, in tribute to his RIA namesake, but when one considers it has also graced the likes of Cecil Cooper, Marty Barrett, Mark Grace, Todd Helton, and the legendary Dizzy Dean, it earns another.
It was also worn by Billy Kilmer in the NFL and the magnificent Valery Kharlamov of the Soviet national hockey team.
My personal favorite though is Carlos May, a mediocre White Sox outfielder, who is the only player I'm aware of to wear his birthday on his back. May was born on May 17, wore number 17, hence the back of his jersey read "May 17"
