Great performance in a fun but hokey film. Amazing that MVS has been playing patriachs for 25 years now. I suspect he is cryogenically frozen and is only de-thawed for these 5-minute movie parts.

Love him as the old patriarch figure. . .but I have to say that James Earl Jones steals the show and has a bigger impact on the film (as far as supporting actors go.)

A good movie, irishgit pretty much wrapped up Von Sydow for this one. Too bad Mako, the actor who was a shaman and narrator in this is dead- I would've loved to hear him relate the entire tale of the holy war on this site...

A nice touch as a clever but dissolute king who hires/blackmails Conan and company into working for him. The movie's harmless fun, but Max does raise the tone a touch.
