In the common parlance of when The Bible was first translated into English "in his imagine" would mean "in his presence." This is just one example of how errant translation, the instances of which number in the hundreds, perhaps thousands in this tome, result in a highly corrupted text. The underlying point, however, is the age-old blasphemy that man resembles the Divine. To assume that the weak, fault-ridden creature known as man is very much like the all-knowing, all-powerful and perfect Divine is absurd and insulting to the notion of God. But, no matter. Man created God as a source of comfort back in the days when the species was even more limited and ignorant than it is now. He owes his existence to us.

Those of you who know my reviews know that I don't Bible bash, and I try to give a fair review to a variety of topics. Choose to believe it or leave it, but here's where this idea comes from, and I choose to believe.Genesis 1:26-27 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

Funny that so many of you feel the need to bash the god you don't believe in. But then...you hate Christians, so "pray" continue...
UPDATE: Think I will make a list for CS and others titled "things that do not exist". For an imaginary entity....God gets a lot of attention here on RIA.

Non-issue because man has crafted gawd images to reflect his own fears and desires. We created the mirror and want to call it a universal truth. A charming by-product of a mammalian species struggling through 150,000 of the first years of our young existence.

The Bible states that we are made in God's image and likeness. The image is the physical part, the likeness is the spiritual one.

I think it goes past a physical form myself and into emotions and everything else that makes us human. I even think God has a sense of humor and people don't give His sense of humor enough credit.
