No one went to Hell for not tithing. Tithing is a work. We have no good works or anything good to offer God to get us into Heaven; that's why Jesus is in the equation.

Tithing one's way into Heaven reminds me of a situation in the Book of Acts where Simon the sorcerer tried to buy his way into Heaven, only to be rebuked by Peter, saying that his money will "perish" with him. The Kingdom of God cannot and WILL NOT be bought and sold like common goods. It is a free gift to us, paid by the blood of Christ.

I think crap like "tithing" is why Jesus turned over the tables of the money changers.Listen,ANYTHING that's supposedly spiritual should NOT depend on "Mammon".Wasn't Jesus always pointing out the pratfalls of materialism?
