I have caught parts of it, and I thank Odin and the other holy gods that they intervened and let me preserve at least part of my increasingly precious time.
If this is what goes on in the Catskills, then I don't need to know any more.

I never saw it, so in my opinion it's great. If I ever do see it, plummets to a zero.

I had three brothers to go along with my older sister, and thankfully she isn't a girly girl. So this wasn't a movie I had to deal with much as a kid. My wife was a big dirty dancing fan, so when we were dating I put up with some of it when it came on TV. I don't think I've ever watched it start to finish, and I'm sure I have no desire to.

Good music, I fell in love with Jennifer Grey's nose!

Feature length soap - with some not so bad music. I've never been a fan of Swayze's looks and, with the exception of Ghost, his acting is pretty much over the top with Elvis-esque undertones. However, since the film is also often unintentionally humorous and just a wee bit touching (a strange combo indeed) it still qualifies as a cheesy diversion on those borrrring gray days when I'm desperately seeking anything. And it still beats the crap out of a Lifetime has been theater flick.

Another movie my ex-wives love, and I struggle to tolerate. Melodramatic plot, by the numbers, cliche-driven script and no better than adequate acting. And topped off by one of the most laughable lines of all time. "Nobody puts Baby in a corner."

Its my favorite of all his movies even though I was always thought Grey was not a believable match for Swayze's character.
