Anyone with a little intelligence and any sense of history can't possibly believe this.

If people want to kill, they will kill. Religion won't stop them, except in cases when the individual is mentally unbalanced and thinks that God is guiding him to commit murder.

This list is kinda like those gotcha questions they ask people in interviews to trip them up and make you look stupid. I'm curious as to why people are running with it instead of calling things as they are, but oh well. I suppose this one actually can go either way, despite all the encouraging statements to the contrary.

As others have correctly stated, more blood has been shed and more misery inflicted in the name of religion...and no particular religion is exempt...during the entire course of recorded human history than for any other reason.

I feel a bit sorry for people I've met (more than a few, unfortunately) who feel that religion is the only reason people don't go around perpetually committing heinous acts on each other. It must be sort of a depressing existence to have such little faith in humanity.

Evidence indicates religions encourage homicide at least as often as they prevent it.

maybe if someone is deeply religious. People have been killing each other since there were humans on Earth. And they still kill each other. I wonder if it were not illegal to take another person's life how many more homocides you would see.

It many instances it does. In others it doesn't. Religions don't kill, people do.

Not on the evidence of history it doesn't.
